After announcing the Moto G6 Plus earlier this month, Motorola is ready to bring yet another smartphone to India in just a few days. The company has announced via its official Twitter handle that the Motorola One Power will launch in India on September 24. The reason this is important is because the One Power is part of Motorola’s Android One lineup of phones that was announced a few weeks ago. This means the One Power will bring stock Android Oreo with guaranteed timely security updates from Google. When Motorola announced the Motorola One and Motorola One Power last month, the company had confirmed that the latter will be coming to India in October, but it seems the company isn’t ready to wait that long which is why it’s we’re getting the device on September 24 instead. At the time of its announcement, Motorola promised two major Android updates for the Motorola One phones, the first of which being Android 9 Pie, which will be released soon after the phones are launched and then Android Q in the future. This should appeal to long-time Motorola fans who have been a little disgruntled with the company’s speed at pushing out software updates.Motorola One Power specificationsThe Motorola One Power is bigger and more powerful that the Motorola One. It sports a tall 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. As far as design is concerned, the One Power comes with a notched display with a notch that’s almost as wide as the iPhone X. The back is likely made up of metal rather than glass. It also comes with a vertical dual camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.advertisementPowering the One Power is a Snapdragon 636 chipset which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for expandability. Motorola may announce a 6GB variant as well for the Indian market, but we can only know for sure during the launch event. As for the camera, the One Power comes with a 16MP + 5MP setup on the back and a 12-megapixel sensor on the front. It houses a larger 4,850mAh battery compared to the 3,500mAh battery inside the Motorola One. The phone supports TurboPower fast charging USB Type-C and a headphone jack.Pricing will be key with the Motorola One Power. The Moto G6 Plus was launched in India with a pretty surprising price tag of Rs 22,499. For the specs it provides, the G6 Plus will have a hard time trying to take on competitors in this segment like Poco F1. The company will likely be mindful to launch the Motorola One Power more competitively as we have Android One phones with similar specs like the Nokia 6.1 Plus at Rs 15,999. Notably, the Mi A2 with a Snapdragon 660 chipset and Android One also comes in at under Rs 20,000.ALSO READ: Can the Motorola One Power take on Nokia 6.1 Plus and Mi A2 in India?
