RÓNÁN TO SHOWCASE OUR CELTIC COUSINS

first_imgRónán Mac Aodha Bhuí will be celebrating our cultural links with our Celtic neighbours this week on his Rónán Beo @ 3 show on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta over the next couple of days.Today he will have a music session recorded in studio with Manx Singer Ruth Keggin and her band.Ruth will be singing traditional and contemporary songs in Manx Gaelic from her new album ‘Sheear’. She will be accompanied by James Lindsay on double bass and Dave Pearce on guitar. Ruth also talks about the renewal of the Manx language, and her own delight at being able to sing these songs in Manx for us. On Thursday, Rónán will bring us a session in studio with Scottish band Dàimh, with their newest member Griogar Labhruidh. Griogar brought out an album with Gaoth Dobhair singer and musician Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde a few years ago, and is well known to RnaG listeners.Dàimh have a strong following in Scotland, and have been nominated several time for the Scots traditional music prizes.
